- Over 24 million children* (UN Data) globally are at the risk of dropping out of school.
- In India, 5.3 percent of rural children aged 6-10 years did not enroll in school in 2020 (ASER 2020).
- Smart phone based learning through online engagement, accessibility to digital modes, and internet connectivity is a major challenge.
- With frequent lockdowns, learning outcomes of children have been affected - learning has a bearing on cognitive development.
ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
Access to education has always been a challenge for under-privileged children. However, due to the pandemic, as livelihoods were affected and many families were further pushed into poverty, lesser-privileged children suffered the most.
Schools were closed, education shifted online and economic vulnerability forced many children to compromise on their education and drop out of school to engage in menial labour.
The impact of the pandemic has been deep and long lasting. While privileged children could go back to school, under-privileged children have been struggling to get their lives back to normal. Coping with the expenses of the new online mode of learning has also posed as a challenge for many.
Therefore, to ensure education for all, our campaign ‘Shiksha Na Ruke’ aims not only at bringing drop out children back to school but also in enabling uninterrupted learning for children through access to resources needed for their education.

MISSION EDUCATION
Each member of the Meghwal Vankar Foundation Trust is committed to enriching the quality of life for children residing in slums and rural areas. This commitment manifests itself in many ways – providing academic support with daily homework, ensuring proper healthcare and medical attention, providing meaningful and creative extra-curricular activities for the children, or fundraising for key essentials like food, clothing and shelter.
Our programmes are envisioned and executed by our volunteers – individuals from different walks of life, with varied skills sets who come together to enhance the experience of childhood for the children.
ACADEMICS
As said by noble laurate malala Yusif Zai “One pen one board one student and one teacher can change the whole world” . We believe that knowledge is the basis of fulfilling the life.
- Providing elementary education to our children’s and essentials like uniforms, accessories, and books to them.
- Delivering remedial classes, either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups and encouraging creativity and group discussions in groups.
- Setting up computer facilities and imparting computer-based learning and training
- Cultivates a sense of responsibility and inspiring the need of selfless services to make this place a better place to live in.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
What is childhood without fun, games and learning new things? The Meghwal Vankar Foundation Trust Extracurricular Activities programme aims to create opportunities for fun and learning for the children by bringing various aspects of music, art, sport and learning into their lives. In short, providing life skills outside the classroom by:
- Delivering Yoga, Music, Art, Dance, Sport and any other form of extra-curricular classes
- Vocational Guidance, Mentoring
- Field trips
- Identifying and facilitating placements for children interested in trade schools in lieu of regular academics.
